Patchwork quilt for Valentines

I know this is a bit early but I was looking at our Wedding Ring patchwork quilts and it got me in a romantic mood and I started to think of Valentines day at least 8 months ahead but never mind. This patchwork quilt called Veranda Ring Patchwork Quilt is just so adorable for Valentines day and from Victorian Hearts. It has beautiful red and pink flowers, a design like lace in the softest of pinks and cream . I thought it would be a wonderful present for Valentines day or equally romantic would be for a couple celebrating one of their wedding anniversaries.

Laura Ann Ring Patchwork Quilt

This Laura Ann Ring Patchwork Quilt would make a wonderful wedding present for friends and relatives. It is that romantic traditional design based on the interlocking wedding ring design. I have featured two of the color shades a bright yellow and a blue which is cool and a good contrast. The ruffles, shams, quilts and throw all work so well together and create that Romantic Chic look that is at home in a traditional decor or a contemporary setting.
It is believed that the double ring design originated in Pennsylvania and was brought by Germanic people in the 17th century. I found these interesting images of this state.

Dover Ring Patchwork Quilt

This quilt design called Dover Ring Patchwork Quilt by Victorian Heart is in beautiful cool shades of blues , greens and shades of white.
The image of interlocking rings goes back to Roman times when it was seen on cups. Interlocking rings are used as symbols for the Olympic Games. A gimmal ring was worn in the 14th and 15th centuries. It was two rings that interlocked. One was worn by the man and the other by the woman when they married the interlocking rings were worn by the woman. It is believed that this idea of interlocking rings was brought to Pennsylvania by German immigrants in the 17th century. The pattern became very popular in the 1920s and 1930s in the USA for patchwork quilts. A quilt in this design was given on wedding days as a present.
I love the romantic ideas behind the origins of this patchwork quilt design for sale at Quiltkrazy. The Dover Ring Patchwork Quilt would make an outstanding eye catching impact in the room. It has a story to tell whilst being a patchwork quilt of bold color contrasts.

I picked out this colour swatch to team in with the decor of the room for this quilt along with a shade of white or ivory of your choice.

Amazing Patchwork Quilt

Tote patchwork bag by Qulitkrazy

Rug patchwork by quiltkrazy with triangles. I love the way these products go so well with these contemporary tables. The colors are a perfect match and shows how a traditional patchwork technique can be so contemporary.

These tables are made of recycled materials and what I am interested in is the use of triangles. See at this link Triangle tables Our quilt called Amazing patchwork uses the same method of triangles. Two triangles make a square. I also like the color similarity .I think it shows that this quilt could really do well in a contemporary room with the right colors of decor . A bed head in this metal would look good . Click on this link to see all products in this patchwork quilt by Quilt Krazy that uses a melody of colored triangles .

Lighthouse by the Bay Appliqued Quilt

One the States in the USA that have a distinct feature is Maine. The state has so many fascinating Lighthouses around the coast. These light houses or we could all them seaside towers which date back to ancient Egypt and its civilisation. A 400-foot tall stone Lighthouse of Alexandria built in the 3rd century BC on the coast of Egypt could be one of the first lighthouses ever.
A lot of lighthouses were built in the 19th or 20th century on a much smaller scale, with a single beacon to light the way for ships around the coastal waters of the main shipping areas, and often, a small room or nearby cottage where the lighthouse keeper could sleep. The construction of these light houses tested the engineers of the day. Today the lighthouses have been automated so there is no need for a lighthouse keeper. Even though they have lost much of their relevance, many lighthouses still stand on beaches, and serve as beautiful symbols of a bygone era. I think they are a fascinating type of architecture to look at and in the state of Maine they are in evidence all over and worth going to see.

To see a map of these go to this link MAINE LIGHTHOUSES
This link goes to Maine tourism if you want to plan a trip to see them at this link

Medallion Butterscotch Patchwork Quilt

This is a swatch of a selection of sandy colors that remind me of the desert. The sands , rocks and those ochre colors of the earth. A really natural selection of colors that would go with our Medallion Butterscotch Patchwork Quilt. As the name says it is also similar to the taste of butterscotch sweets. The origins of this sweet product can be found at this link BUTTERSCOTCH

This Medallion Butterscotch Patchwork Quilt has such a contemporary look and would go well in a room with natural woods, a wood or tile floor, a floor with a natural product such as cork, sisal or wool and some simple white or natural curtains or blinds. The walls and paint work could use the wonderful palette above.

Bow Tie Octogan Patchwork Quilt

The octagon shape is one which features in patchwork quilts and an endless amount of patterns can be created using them. The picture above is from my 1950s book. This link on Wiki shows some more combinations of this eight sided form, go to OCTAGONS and this link shows some ways forms can link and grow PATTERNS .

We have a quilt set that is based on the octagon. It is called BOW TIE PATCHWORK QUILT AT QUILT KRAZY and is made of a selection of colours that remind me of good food and drinks such as wine, claret, bisque and biscuit. The swatch below shows how the decor of the room could pick out these colours to enhance the patchwork quilt and show it off at its best.
