Squares in Patchwork Quilts

I remember the first Patchwork quilts I made were from squares. My method was to cut out all the squares and arrange on the floor or a large table. Pin and tack together in long strips say all the horizontal bands. Then machine them together or do by hand. I then joined all the long pieces together. It can take ages but the results as those above show are really worthwhile

This quilt from our collection uses squares and shades of pastel blues with interesting textures.

The colors remind me of delicate shade of Wedgewood pottery in the UK and the work of Robert Adam. It would look good against pale cream or pale blue decor with highlights in richer shades of blue. A plate collection of antique blues or some contempoary designs would work as well and a collection of blue candles.
Hope this gives some ideas
